IDPH reports 489 brand-new COVID-19 favorable tests and three additional deaths

DES MOINES, Iowa– The Iowa Department of Public health on Saturday reported 489 new COVID-19 favorable tests and three additional deaths.At 10 a.m., the health department reported 392,105 total positive tests, 344,143 overall healings and 5,907 overall deaths given that the start of the pandemic. Twenty-four hours earlier, the health department reported 391,616 total positive tests and 5,904 overall deaths.
Iowa reports 2,174,800 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered and 951,514 people have finished the vaccine series.Iowas 14-day positivity rate is at 4.1%, and the seven-day average is now 3.9%. Health department data shows 4,741,908 overall tests have been administered. There are now 209 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, down from 217 the previous day. Iowa reports 48 clients in ICU and 22 patients on ventilators.One of Iowas long-lasting care facilities report COVID-19 break outs. The health department reports 18 positive cases and 11 healings amongst locals and personnel within those facilities.
