AstraZenecas newest information analysis verifies efficiency of its COVID-19 vaccine and is approximately in line with the results released Monday. The newest analysis finds the vaccine to be 76% effective against symptomatic COVID-19 and 100% efficient against critical or severe disease and hospitalization. The upgraded analysis includes 49 more cases of COVID-19 than the Monday analysis, which drew down the effectiveness rates of the vaccine by 3%. AstraZeneca said just that it didnt identify any safety issues related to the vaccine. If it provides the OKAY to the AstraZeneca vaccine, it would end up being the fourth to become readily available in the U.S. to combat COVID-19.
