(AP)– Coastal residents secured outdoor patio furniture, ferry operators finished evacuations on the Outer Banks, and authorities lost consciousness sandbags and offered automobile space in raised garages Monday as Isaias marched northward, projection to hit the Carolinas as a minimal typhoon.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center warned oceanside home occupants to brace for storm rise up to 5 feet and approximately 8 inches of rain in spots, as Isaias moves up the coast. The Carolinas werent the only states at risk.
