Leicester might face a brand-new local lockdown after a surge of cases in the city. It comes as a leading researcher recommending the government has cautioned that the UK is “on a knife edge” with a rise in cases expected in the coming weeks.
Teacher Sir Jeremy Farrar, whos a member of the federal governments SAGE advisory committee, also told the BBC, he expects a second wave of infections in the winter season.
